Dearest Readers,
I have a short anecdote from yesterday night which I'm sure you all would love to hear about. At 11:55 there was a knock on the gate outside of my house. My parents and sister were asleep so I went out to see who it was. It was dark and the rain was coming down pretty hard. "Who would come knocking at this time of night?" I thought to myself. I open the gate and there she was, standing there with a towel on her shoulders, hat and sunglasses on and rocking a pair of Lynbrook P.E. shorts, Mohini Adkar. I tried to run into my house but before I knew it, she snaps a picture of me. *Click*. 200 points. That level of dedication is unparalleled. Props to you Mohini. Props to you.
Please don't come knocking on my door. As George Bush brilliantly stated, "There's an old saying in Tennessee I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee that says, fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me, you can't get fooled again." That is a statement which I live my life by. You won't catch me slacking again.
The next story revolves around the wonderful game that we had today at lunch. For those of you who don't know, Candidates were split into groups of around 13 people and given a pool of 2000 Nix with the option to steal or share (with different consequences and rewards based on the number of people who stole or shared).
One of the groups decided that they would give up collateral (something valuable to them or money) as assurance that everyone in the group would choose to share. TI-84s, headphones, brush pens and cash were put up as collateral but yet to no avail. The sly fox, who will stay unnamed(we will call him Swiper), decided that the $50 dollars that he put in was worth the 2,000 Nix that would inevitably vault him to the top of the leader board. I knew from the moment I saw Swiper's face that he had chosen to steal. Sadly, the rest of his group mates didn't know what hit em. Watch your backs Heisters.
Today's daily challenges began with the "meet Allison at rainbow park" challenge. Whoever thought this was a good idea at 7am on a late start day are some truly terrible people. The next challenge was sprung at Brunch. Candidates had to submit their rendition of "Boyfriend" by Justin Bieber. Iryl, next time just don't even submit something if all you're gonna sing is "LA LA LA" for 30 seconds. We had some beautiful falsetto from Sadhana and Anika as well as Iman, Shriya and Mohini. Shoutout to Ananya for sending in a video when she was sick. We wish you a speedy recovery. Sean, Denver, Alex and William, the Dons would appreciate it if you serenaded us; you all have such lovely voices. The last challenge of the day was to sell the Dons the closest item to the candidate sending in the video. Pranav Saravanan, you really couldn't find anything other than a coin to sell to us? If anyone is looking to buy a coin, you now know who to call. Linked under is a video of our favorite music video submissions. Enjoy!
